NCR Acquisition History

NCR Headquarters
Entrance to NCR's headquarters in Duluth, Georgia.

NCR Corp. the $6.5B global manufacturer and servicer of ATM machines and kiosks is unique in that when it comes to M&A, the Company has experienced nearly every type of transaction situation – both as a buyer, and a target of its own.

In 1990, NCR was acquired by At&t – only to be spun-off 7 years later. More recently, the Company was the target of The Blackstone Group, and while Blackstone’s bid for the entire company failed to come together, it did end up investing $820M for a minority stake.

NCR’s largest acquisition to date was Digital Insight in 2013. The former financial services of Intuit was acquired for $1.65B from PE-sponsor Thoma Bravo (who paid $1B for it less then 6 months earlier).

Here is a list of NCR’s acquisitions.
