IBM acquired Truven in Feb 2016 for $2.6B.

In 2016, IBM got off to a hot start acquiring companies. As of this point last year, IBM had already announced 6 acquisitions, including the 4th largest deal its ever done, the $2.6B acquisition of PE-backed Truven Health Analytics.

So far in 2017, IBM has announced 1 deal, the acquisition of dashboard software developer Agile 3. However, considering IBM has averaged 10+ acquisitions per year since 2012, more activity will surely follow.
