50 Most Active US Public Company Sellers, 2014 – 2016

General Electric HQ
Entrance to General Electric's campus in Fairfield, Connecticut.

While buyers generally get all the coverage when it comes to M&A, sellers of course play a key role as well.

The most active seller over the past 2 years is General Electric. Notable recent exits include the $5.4B sale of GE Appliances to Haier, the $485M sale of GE Asset Management to State Street, and the sale of its Embedded Technology Systems Business to PE-firm Veritas Capital.

However, GE is not alone in actively selling non-core or non-strategic assets.

Here is a list of the 50 most active public company sellers over the past 2 years.
